I live in Charlotte, NC I’m interested in starting my very own Non Emergency Medical Transportation service. I don’t know much at all about what I need to do from start to finish, and every time I ask someone with there on NEMT service questions about this particular field, they don’t like to share information. Can someone please help me get the information needed to start.
I want to start my own transportation business to take people to stores, jobs, and other places. Can you give me some tips on some other places I can transport clients to.  I need information for marketing and insurance.
Transportation Business. General Discussion / Subcontract transportation provider

I am already doing the Subcontract transportation provider with just one company. I have been very dedicated to them to make sure I give A+ service to the client they give me. Frustration is that no matter how i treat their customer and the positive recommendation I get from passengers, it still does not rock them to give me more jobs. Its becoming very frustration providing the service for the last 3 years and yet I just get at the most 4 jobs per month. Since I have no way to get other companies in the same field, do you have a list of company that I can somehow hook with them to get the sub-contract transportation business. Its hard to make my regular monthly payment of my car that I specifically bought to do the business. I would appreciate if you have list or recommend how I can go by and get in touch with other business, would deeply appreciated. Life is getting very hard and I am reaching out to you.
Paratransit NEMT Business / Pick the NEMT business
« Last post by Zach on March 12, 2016, 05:13:19 PM »
Hi, A family member of mine did this for a while and is retiring this year. I would like to offer to pick the business up off of her hands and continue running it however I am a little concerned I am going to lose a lot of their clients for multiple reasons.

1.) When they ran the business they were mainly doing it for the tax write off so they were charging very little. If I pick It up I am going to have to change the rates and bump them up because my expenses are going to be very high as far as insurance and also the fact I am going to have to buy a new van to do this.

2.) I am 19 years old (Which is why my insurance will be so high trying to do this) . I do not think people are going to be comfortable with me driving them. Not to mention having all the other cost that go with starting up a business and the fact I have little to no capitol to start this company with.

I would really appreciate some advice or some ideas.
